Hey everyone, I'm back and welcome to Gunsmoke and Goodreads, where i share books, series, and my own writing and stories. I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but we've been really busy on the farm and with other things lately. A
nyways, let's get into it!
I'd like to share a book series with you that was and still is one of my favourites to read. It's an eight book series called Keystone Stables by Marsha Hubler (I love many of her books) and follows the stories of different troubled girls coming to a dude ranch, Keystone Stables, and how they find Jesus through the owners Tom and Eileen Chambers and healing through the horses.
I've never been able to read the whole series, because I couldn't find them at my local library. Bringing them out now, though, to share with you, I think I'll try look again and see if I can finish reading this amazing series. So on that note, I've done some digging to find what each book after #1 and #2 is about so you, and I, can decide if we want to read them.

About This Series

Most people know Keystone Stables as a very special dude ranch. For thirteen-year-old Skye Nicholson, its her last chance. with Skye's growing record of offences, only the owners of Keystone, Tom and Eileen Chambers, can keep her from being sent to juvinile detention.
Not that Skye feels grateful. for her, keystone is just another foster home like all the rest, except for one thing: Champ, a beautiful sorrel Quarter Horse who captivates Skye in a way she never expected.
As the bond between skye and the horse grows, wonderful discoveries follow. Discoveries about God's love that can change the life of a troubled, lonely teen.
Book #2 On the Victory Trail: Sooze Bodmer
Sooze Bodmer is Skye's best friend. She's also one of the biggest troublemakers at school, so it's no surprise that she winds up joining Skye at Keystone Stables. with its champion horses, keystone is unlike any other foster home. But Sooze is unlike anyone keystone has ever seen.
Even meeting a horse named Stormy can't seem to keep Sooze out of trouble. One thing can, though, something no one expects. Skye's newfound faith in Christ will stand its first, great test as tradegy stikes her friend. But as Skye is about to discover, God can work miracles even in the toughest of circumstances.
Book#3 Soutnern Belle's Special Gift: Tanya Bell
Skye and Morgan have their hands full trying to share God's love and the preciousness of life with Tanya Bell, an African-American girl and a runaway who becomes a foster child in the Chambers' household.
Although Tanya's adoptive parents are successful in business, Tanya is an obnoxious teen and veteran shoplifter. But when Southern Belle, one of the Keystone Stables' mares, dies giving birth to a foal, Tanya is transformed as she takes responsibility for the foal.
Through her love for the foal and Skye's friendship, Tanya faces the problems in her life instead of running from them and turns to God to help her work through her past.
Book#4 Summer Camp Adventure: Skye Nicholson
Skye has been looking forward to her time at Camp Oneega since their youth pastor mentioned the opportunity to volunteer for the summer. As a counselor, she envisions blissful days of sharing her love of horses and riding all the amazing trails. Plus, she’ll be able to spend time with her crush, Chad.
Then Skye meets Jonathan, a deaf camper who insists on doing things his way when it comes to riding. Even when Skye uses her knowledge of American Sign Language to communicate, the boy refuses any type of help or friendship. Then Jonathan and his black gelding mount disappear into the hills, forcing Skye and Chad to lead the rescue to find him.
Book#5 Leading The Way: Katie Thomas
When Skye hears that a blind girl named Katie Thomas will be coming to Keystone Stables to learn to ride horses, she’s determined to do whatever she can to make the new girl feel at home. That includes finding Katie the perfect horse to ride.
Through Boomerang, a champion barrel racing pinto, Katie gains an excitement for riding lessons—but her recurring anger over her parents’ separation and upcoming divorce, as well as her blindness, leads to tensions in the barn and between Katie and Skye.
Then Katie asks Skye to help her reach a very special goal for herself and Boomerang in hopes of getting both her parents to watch her ride at the same time. Achieving it will take courage, but the prize could be greater than any blue ribbon.
Book#6 Blue Ribbon Champ: Skye Nicholson
Skye knows she should be kind to Joey Klingerman, and that he’s probably the most loving person she’s ever met, but his clinginess and insistence he and Skye are dating has become too much.
Not only are his proclamations and “chivalrous” actions embarrassing, Joey won’t stop pestering Skye to let him ride Champ, her sorrel quarter horse. And while she knows it’s selfish, no one rides Champ but her.
Joey has an opportunity to compete at the Snyder County Horse show—but it could mean Skye sacrificing her own chance for a blue ribbon. As the competition nears, Skye prays for a miracle, either for Joey or her own hardening heart.
Book#7 Whispering Hope: Wanda Stallord
A wild horse and an angry young woman. Is there a secret to taming them both? Wanda Stallord is a wild, nasty handful when she first comes to Keystone Stables, and Skye is put off by the teenager's grungy clothes and thirst for trouble.
The former gang member is a lot like Keystone's other recent arrival, a beautiful but uncontrollable Mustang called Rebel. Skye wants to help Wanda, but she seems interested only in shooting pool and handing out insults. But as she practices the gentle art of horse whispering with Rebel, Skye discovers a key that just might open up for Wanda's fearful, lonely heart to the healing power of God's love.
Book#8 The Long Ride Home: Skye Nicholson
On a trip to South Carolina with her foster family, Skye gets the shock of her life when the waitress at a local diner seems to recognize her. The woman proves to be Skye’s long-lost Aunt Millie, the first blood relative Skye has ever met.
As Skye and Mom and Dad Chambers attempt to track down Skye’s birth parents with Millie’s help, Skye’s foster sister and best friend, Morgan, struggles with her own family regrets. As the secrets of both Skye’s and Morgan’s lives are revealed, it becomes clear more is at stake than anyone can imagine—and both girls have a big decision to make.
